In third grade students ‘read to learn’ and we see a big growth in the reading and writing skills by the middle of the year. Third graders learn more about their faith, the migration of butterflies, multiplication and division skills, and responsible citizenship. They have a strong sense of fairness and right and wrong. They are developing empathy for others and are eager to find ways to help. Food and clothing drives, as well as other charitable projects give them a way to take an active response. They love to communicate through writing and drawing and their writing begins to show their varied interests and rich imagination.

I absolutely love teaching 3rd grade! The students have a refreshing zest for learning, and they are always up for the challenges and new things we encounter the whole year through. I love learning and growing with them as we shape our academic, social, emotional, and spiritual selves. I continually try to instill in my students to live like Jesus and always think about "What would Jesus do?"

I always knew teaching would be the career path I take.
I have learned that it is an absolute passion of mine. Working with kids every day and getting to see how their minds work is incredibly fascinating to me! I love to teach third grade because there is so much growth that happens. Students are in the middle of crossing the bridge from primary grades to upper elementary. In my classroom you will see laughter, kindness, collaboration, and, most importantly, fun!
