I love teaching 5th grade because 5th graders are fun, inquisitive and learn in big gulps. A big part of me is still an 11 year-old and I can see how to help navigate obstacles when they arise. Also I get to laugh at 11 year-old humor every day! In 5th grade, school is still “cool” and that makes it fun to be in class each day.

Being a 5th grade teacher is an absolute gift to me.
It is a big year for any student, and it is enjoyable to see them grow! My goal as a teacher is to build relationships with every students, target everyone’s needs, and help students make goals. In my classroom, everyone is a teacher and everyone is a student. Fifth grade is the best year (in my opinion)!
