WATCH D.O.G.S.

We invite you to be a Watch D.O.G. once per trimester.  

Trimester 1: September - December
Trimester 2: December - March

All WATCH D.O.G.S. are required by the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis to complete the Virtus Essential 3 Training. Please allow a minimum of 2 weeks to complete the process.

Who are WATCH D.O.G.S.?
WATCH D.O.G.S. are fathers, grandfathers, uncles, and other father-figures who volunteer for a day at school. During the day, Watch D.O.G.S. may read and/or work on flash cards with students, play at recess, eat lunch with students, monitor school entrances and hallways, assist with car line traffic flow, or other assigned activities where they actively engage with, not only their own students, but other students as well.

Students will easily be able to identify Watch D.O.G.S. because they will be wearing an official
WATCH D.O.G.S.® t-shirt and a ‘Dog Tag’ sticker with their name on it.  

All WATCH D.O.G.S must be VIRTUS and Essential-3 trained.  

Due to licensing in our Faithful Beginnings Program, Watch D.O.G.S. are unable to volunteer in preschool or pre-k classrooms.  If you are a preschool or pre-k father who would like to be a Watch D.O.G., we are happy to have you help out in our K-8 classrooms. 

A Watch D.O.G.'s day runs from 7:25AM - 1:30PM. We will provide you with a schedule for your day. The schedule will include time for you to be in your student(s) classroom(s), and may include recess, lunch, and specialists.  

All Watch D.O.G.S. are required to wear a Watch D.O.G.S. t-shirt. T-shirts cost $15.00 and can be purchased in the school office.
